Wedding bells…

We did a lot of wedding dress shopping with my friend Laura a few months ago in order to find “the one”…

But between the meringue style, the out-of-price style, the synthetic style or the back-in-the-80’s style, we couldn’t find anything simple and made with natural fabric…

So came the idee of me sewing her wedding dress… well that’s the least a bridesmaid can do!

Laura

 Isn’t she gorgeous??

ceremony

Pattern = Based on a Simplicity pattern (1$) – Fabric = Embroidered white cotton from Spotlight

OoooOOOOOOOOOooooOOOOOOOooo

Miam, miam…

I was envious of my friend Adeline’s pants from Cop Copine  (A french famous designer, check out on their website, they are doing amazing clothes – but no online store, that’s a relief for your bank account a pity…)

Perfect fit, material, color… Perfect pants, in a nutshell!

So, I was wondering, why shouldn’t I try to sew the same for me?? It doesn’t seem to be to complicated after all…

But in fact, I was completly wrong, and this pants have been ridiculiously hard to sew, just because of the little fancy stuffs in the bottom on the legs…

 Nais Crea (42)

Rhaaa… yes those ridiculous little folds…

 Retouche #1

Now, I understand why these French designer clothes cost SO much!

Pattern: Inspired by a Simplicity pattern – Fabrics : Checked black and grey cotton, from Spotlight

She received her package so I can’t show you what I sent to her. Her????

Yes, I am talking about her:

Nais Crea (36)

She wanted a top like this one here with bright colors like blue, orange pink and green…

Colors in bits by bits… here and there…  Not easy… but all is in the details…

And I sew a matching necklace to go with the top …

Thai fisherman pants

Thai fisherman pants were  used by fishermen in Thailand. They are lightweight trousers that are made very wide in the waist, one size fits all. The additional material is wrapped around the waist and tied to form a belt.

And above all, they are really confortable!

I cut in an old and full of hole thai short pants I had for years to create the pattern. I wanted something classic enought to wear them at work so I used a black fabrics to made these.

I am really happy with the result, they are really confortable, and I wear them all the time now! And you may have noticed the pull-over from the previous post?

Usually, Vogue Very Easy’s pattern depresses  me… it is meant to be very easy (or so it is written on the pattern), and I spend hours scratching my head trying to enderstand the instructions…

IMG_3455

But this time  it was not a lie, this close fitting pullover top  is really easy to do and I am very happy with the result:

 IMG_3450

The collar is very low so that we can see the shoulder… sexy, sexy!

IMG_3473

And with a bit of color…
