Thai fisherman pants were  used by fishermen in Thailand. They are lightweight trousers that are made very wide in the waist, one size fits all. The additional material is wrapped around the waist and tied to form a belt.

And above all, they are really confortable!

I cut in an old and full of hole thai short pants I had for years to create the pattern. I wanted something classic enought to wear them at work so I used a black fabrics to made these.

I am really happy with the result, they are really confortable, and I wear them all the time now! And you may have noticed the pull-over from the previous post?

Usually, Vogue Very Easy’s pattern depresses  me… it is meant to be very easy (or so it is written on the pattern), and I spend hours scratching my head trying to enderstand the instructions…

IMG_3455

But this time  it was not a lie, this close fitting pullover top  is really easy to do and I am very happy with the result:

The collar is very low so that we can see the shoulder… sexy, sexy!

And with a bit of color…

I follow a brillant idea from Fils & Pluches to create my own magnets.

The technic is really simple: using advert magnets (or you can buy magnetic sheet in a craft shop) just peel of the top layer of the magnet and  glu fabrics scrap or  poscard (my choice) on it.

 P1000122

I used a poscard from The Barking Dog (sent to me by my friend Adeline)  and a painting from my friend Valerie (showing  the small island of New Caledonia) .

P1000127

And hop, on the fridge…

 P1000119

Easy!

I have met Melanie a few months ago throught her lovely blog and her hat’s tutorial. Since then, I stayed a huge fan of what she does.

She is very funny and creative, an other proof of that is the new blog she just launched with one of her friends. I love the concept its so cute! It is to share kids stories and teddy bears.

Click on the link bellow, and enter the fairy tell…

So, because she is worth it (as said the advert) …

… I made this bag for her :

 Bag PtitBoutDFil (2)

The tutorial came from P’tit Bout Fil and it is very very easy to follow.

And to go with the bag, a matching Obi belt:

Because she is worth it!

She is not only very talented, but also very very patient.

It took a lot more than a two month to do my part of the deal, but here it is, it is finished, packed, posted, and on its way to France.

But Fanny is curious…

Curious #1

She wanted to have a foretaste of what she will have in her package…

Hum, hum…

I haven’t posted for the past few weeks but I was waiting for a sunny day to take pictures.

I finally found one, as well as an amazing top model to pose for me…

So, first, what’s best than an Obi belt to emphasize our wasp waist?

zoom-4

And to give your body an amazing shape…

ceinture-2

I tell you, this belt his magic!

Pattern : Home made (Tutorial Here) – Fabric: Black and grey coton from Spotlight

And to go with the beld, I sewed a matching top.

 top-1

I really like the shape given by the pattern (initially, a dress, but I shortered it), especially the wide sleeves.

I will definitely use the pattern again, for a dress or a jacket.
